Medium Voltage Electricity Installation | Instalacion Energia Electrica de Media Tension

During this week, excavation work for the medium voltage electricity installation which will feed the LSST Base Facility and Data Center will begin. 

This activity, which is estimated to take 30 days, will start with the tracing of the excavations to continue with the installation of 2 poles in the exterior of the mutliple use court, in the south west area for measuring equipment and reclosers, to then continue with the underground channeling on the south side of the Recinto's perimetral fence, reaching the technical platform which will be built next to the Modulux.

On August 16, 2017 the Phase I contractor began demolitions in Stage 2 of the refurbishing project. At the beginning of each of these stages there is a great amount of debris which is collected in areas specifically designated for this purpose. The debris is removed weekly and sent to places of final disposal.

Traffic Flow Ex-Warehouse Area | Flujo Vehicular Area Ex-Bodega

  • From Monday July 24, traffic flow will go back to normal around the warehouse demolition area
  • For safety reasons, we recommend not walking around the area where the warehouse and motel were demolished
  • The traffic flow from the Modulux is on the right lane, as indicated in the image
  • Parking on the "island" will be habilitated on both sides, with a total of 6 vehicles approximately

  • To avoid fall of material from scaffolds, plastic will be placed, anyhow we ask you to follow these recommendations
  • Try to avoid, in the means possible, walking throught the area, in order for you to not be affected by the fall of material or styrofoam remnant
  • The Propasta STO mixture is innocuous to skin contact but causes damage in fabric and clothing, specially in synthetic jackets or poliester textile
