The University of Illinois has detailed Safety plans for each building on campus. Each plan provides for outside assembly areas when a building needs to be evacuated, Shelter areas for weather events such as tornadoes, and shelter in place areas for other threats. The U of I staff hosting visitors will be familiar with the plan for the specific buildings which will be visited. Ths University campus is large, visitors may be interested in general information about public safety on campus, available at http://www.dps.uiuc.edu
The mission of the University's Safety and Compliance office is to promote safe and environmentally sound work practices that advance the University's mission and interests by advising and consulting with faculty, staff and students. These university wide policies govern all work performed at the U of I for the LSST project.
