Submitted by vpetrecca on Mon, 04/29/2024 - 12:52
Chairs: Vincenzo Petrecca, Sara Bonito
All are welcome to this session is dedicated to simulated LSST-like data sets and, in particular, Rubin's Data Preview 0 (DP0). A brief introduction will be provided to the simulated data sets and how to access them. The Transients and Variable Stars Science Collaboration (TVS-SC) has a DP0 Task Force which will report on its activities, such as the analysis of time-domain events through the Rubin Science Platform (RSP). For example, extraction and analysis of light curves, fake source injection, difference image analysis.
Please contact the session chair with any questions, or if you'd like to volunteer to speak or help with this session.
- Intro talk
Invited speakers:
- Detection and Measurement of Transient and Variable Objects in DP0 (Michael Wood-Vasey)
- Synthetic Source Injection in DP0 to Enable LSST Preparatory Science (Jeff Carlin)
Contributed talks:
- AGILE: An empirical simulation pipeline to provide realistic LSST catalog-level data including AGN, galaxies and stars (Akke Viitanen)
- Constraining Supernova progenitors through the rate with the LSST (Vincenzo Petrecca)
