Tools for Image Cutouts and Reprocessing

Various Rubin science cases (across different science collaborations) involve reprocessing or running custom algorithms on large numbers of cutouts. This session will focus on the tools and infrastructure for making such cutouts and the potential science cases that such infrastructure/tools support.

The session will begin with a presentation on DECam image processing with the LSST Science Pipelines as an example of the kind of science that can be made possible by large-scale processing of imaging data. This will be followed by presentations and discussions on Rubin's US Data Facility, cutout-making tools currently available on the Rubin Science Platform, future planned capabilities, and bulk-cutout downloading.

2: 30 - 2:50 pm -- Overview of Rubin's US Data Facility and plans for batch computing and bulk download by Adam Bolton

2: 50 - 3:20 pm -- Presentation & discussion led by Christina Williams --- focused on cutout-making tools currently available on the RSP, future planned capabilities, and bulk-cutout downloading.
