Abstract: We attempt an analysis of star formation for simulated post-starburst galaxies in the data preview for the upcoming Vera C. Rubin observatory (DP0.2). Using already available E+A galaxy spectra from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7 (SDSS DR7), we assembled a representative sample of E+A galaxies, for use in conjunction with the simulated dp0 data. With the existing SDSS data, we infer the stellar populations of E+A galaxies using a linear combination of A-star and K-star spectra. We compare the available SDSS DR7 data with the simulated data, to forecast new science possible with the improved capabilities of the Rubin observatory dataset. Future work may involve more complex curve fits for the stellar populations of E+A Galaxies, and more in-depth analysis using the tools offered by DP0.2 and eventual Data Release 1.
