Integrating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into Safety Practices

Chair: Giovanni Corvetto

In today’s dynamic workplace landscape, the convergence of Safety with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is becoming increasingly critical. This talk proposes to explore the multifaceted relationship between Safety practices and DEI initiatives. By examining how integrating DEI principles into Safety programs can yield tangible benefits for workplace safety, employee well-being, and organizational performance, we aim to shed light on innovative approaches to fostering a more inclusive and equitable work environment.

The session will delve into key areas where Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and DEI intersect, such as promoting a culture of inclusivity, addressing disparities in workplace safety outcomes, and harnessing diverse perspectives for effective risk management and problem-solving. Through the analysis of case studies and the sharing of best practices, attendees will gain valuable insights into practical strategies for bridging the gap between Safety and DEI, ultimately enhancing both employee engagement and organizational resilience.
