Alerts in the Milky Way: Microlensing, Variable Stars, and Crowded Field Science

This session will be half talks, primarily about analysis of Rubin alerts and filters developed for brokers and related simulations and algorithms for the discovery and characterization of microlensing, variable stars, and other objects in crowded fields. The other half will be a hackathon to explore and improve the existing filters to discover these objects, explore systematics in crowded fields, and access related simulations.

Contributed talks (abstracts):

  1. Katarzyna Kruszynska - Ralph - a gravitational microlensing event modelling pipeline
  2. Natasha Abrams - Discovering and Interpreting Microlensing events with Rubin via ANTARES
  3. Sage Hironaka Remulla - Simulating Microlensing Events for the Vera C. Rubin Observatory
