Rubin Observatory Community Workshop

July 27 - 31, 2026 at SLAC, Menlo Park, CA

This year’s Rubin Community Workshop, Rubin 2026, will take place from July 27 to 31 at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in Menlo Park, CA. For those who cannot attend in person, all plenaries and breakout sessions will be virtually accessible.

In-person registration waitlist

We are nearing the limit of 250 in-person attendees and registration has been proactively closed. Please email pmo.rubin@noirlab.edu to request to register (you might be placed on a waitlist). Hotel information is emailed after registration (the group rate is $183 USD per night). Virtual registration is free, but required in order to access the Zoom links.

Connect with Rubin's Early Science Program

The Rubin Community Workshop focuses on supporting the community in engaging with LSST science, and July 2026 will be a special time for the Early Science Program. Data Preview 1 (DP1) has been released. LSSTCam has been installed. LSST alerts are streaming to brokers. The 10-year survey will officially be underway. Serving Prompt Products, and the release of Data Preview 2, will have either just happened or be on the near horizon. Come work with the entire Rubin community during this exciting and unforgettable phase!

New this year: Friday afternoon and EPO lunch-hour sessions

On Friday afternoon, don’t miss out on the Research Software Engineering Mini-Course, the Rubin 2036 session, or the Mentor Training double-session to enhance your Rubin 2026 experience and build your skills. Also, all EPO sessions are being held during the lunch break (BYO food) to avoid conflicts with other sessions -- come and learn about science communication, education, data visualization, and citizen science!
