Image Quality and Optical Peformance II

This double session will focus on the image quality and optical performance as evaluated during the initial months of commissioning. It will feature presentations on key components such as the Active Optics System, wavefront estimation, the thermal control system, PSF characterization, the dominant contributions to image degradation, and system upgrades. This breakout will offer the science community a chance to engage with the as-built system, gain insights into its performance, and connect directly with the scientists, engineers, and instrumentalists driving its success.

Contributed Talks:

  • S14: Gabriele Rodeghiero - Stray light findings and modeling with LSSTCam
  • S53: Tom J. Wilson - Validation and Verification of LSST Astrometric Positions and Uncertainties Using Operations Rehearsal Simulations
