  • Cybersecurity- LSST has launched a Cybersecurity e-learning course associated with updates to our acceptable use policy for accounts with LSST.  Each account holder in our systems has a responsibility to maintain the integrity of the LSST IT infrastructure, and must take the on-line course.  Every account holder has been invited to take the class through the Litmos System. To log into Litmos, simply log on with your LSST LDAP account using the link and your course will be visible on the homepage under the "Not Started" tab.. https://auraastronomy.litmos.com

  • General Safety Awareness- AURA-LSST is committed to achieving the highest performance in safety, health, and environmental management practices with the aim of creating and maintaining a safe and healthy working and operating environment. The General Safety Awareness course is geared toward new members of the project and focuses on personnel safety throughout the design, construction, and operations phases of the project. To view the course, log into Litmos and find “General Safety Awareness” in the Course Library
     
  • Export Compliance Awareness Training (ECAT) The ECAT will help employees understand how to comply with the legal, ethical and policy-related aspects of doing business as it associates with export compliance. At the beginning of your employment and annually thereafter, you will be reminded to complete the ECAT training when you log into the Web Timesheet (WTS) system.
     
  • Conflict of Interest Certification (COI) It is critical to the mission and reputation of AURA and its Centers to maintain the public’s trust, that the operations and management, research, outreach and other activities are not compromised, or perceived as biased by financial and business considerations. To comply with this policy, AURA employees are required to disclose their non-AURA activities annually and whenever a new possible conflict of interest may arise. At the beginning of your employment and annually thereafter, you will be reminded to complete the ECAT training when you log into the Web Timesheet (WTS) system.

Financial support for LSST comes from the National Science Foundation (NSF) through Cooperative Agreement No. 1258333, the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science under Contract No. DE-AC02-76SF00515, and private funding raised by the LSST Corporation. The NSF-funded LSST Project Office for construction was established as an operating center under management of the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA).  The DOE-funded effort to build the LSST camera is managed by the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (SLAC).
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 to promote the progress of science. NSF supports basic research and people to create knowledge that transforms the future.
NSF and DOE will continue to support LSST in its Operations phase. They will also provide support for scientific research with LSST data.
