Dark Matter Science with LSST
In this parallel session, we discuss ways that LSST can contribute to understanding the fundamental nature of dark matter (for a recent review, see https://arxiv.org/abs/1902.01055). The relevant techniques for probing dark matter (Milky Way substructure, strong gravitational lensing, galaxy clusters, low surface brightness galaxies, microlensing, etc.) cross multiple LSST science collaborations. In addition to science presentations to highlight specific dark matter probes, and a recap of the LSST Dark Matter Workshop planned for August 2019 (https://kicp-workshops.uchicago.edu/lsstdarkmatter-2019), a portion of this session will be devoted to open discussion of ways that the LSST science collaborations can work together on dark matter science topics.
